Don't worry guys. there are many cloud computing-related jobs in Sri Lanka. So, let's get closer.

The Types Of Cloud Computing Jobs

If you want to work with the cloud, you’re not limited to one type of position. Some of the main positions include:

Software Engineer

Software Engineers are computer science professionals who use knowledge of engineering principles and programming languages to build software products, develop computer games, and run network control systems.

Software Architect

A software architect is an expert-level software developer who communicates with businesses and clients to design and execute solutions with a team of software developers. A software architect makes executive software design decisions. They often act as a designer, developer, and communicator.

Development Operations Engineer (DevOps)

DevOps Engineers work with developers and the IT staff to oversee the code releases. They are either developers who get interested in deployment and network operations or sysadmins who have a passion for scripting and coding and move into the development side where they can improve the planning of test and deployment.

Full-Stack Developer

A full-stack developer is an engineer who can handle all the work of databases, servers, systems engineering, and clients.

Cloud Engineer

A cloud engineer is an IT professional responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud computing, including design, planning, management, maintenance, and support.

Network/cloud engineer

Network engineers must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of networking hardware and software.

Typical job requirements are a bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering, and five or more years of experience in areas such as network design and implementation, security, and server and network infrastructure.

Data Engineer

Data engineers are typically software engineers by trade. Instead of data analysis, data engineers are responsible for compiling and installing database systems, writing complex queries, scaling to multiple machines, and putting disaster recovery systems into place.

Database administrator

Database administrators need a strong technical foundation in database structure, configuration, installation, and practice.

Java Developer

A Java Developer is responsible for the design, development, and management of Java-based applications.

System Engineer

A System Engineer Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.

Data Scientist

A data scientist is someone who knows how to extract meaning from and interpret data, which requires both tools and methods from statistics and machine learning. They spend a lot of time in the process of collecting, cleaning, and munging data because data is almost never clean.

Systems Administrator

Network and computer systems administrators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of these networks. They organize, install, and support an organization’s computer systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), network segments, intranets, and other data communication systems.

.NET Developer

A .NET developer is responsible for designing, tailoring, and developing software applications according to a business’ needs. In addition to the determination and analysis of prerequisites for software, their responsibilities include support and continuous development.

Front End Developer

A front-end developer links together the world of design and technology, packaging up the utility of the back end in an inviting way for users to interact with. They take website design files and convert them into HTML, JavaScript (JS), and/or CSS code – the core elements of the front-end.

Back End Developer

A back-end web developer is responsible for server-side web application logic and integration of the work front-end web developers do. Back-end developers usually write web services and APIs used by front-end developers and mobile application developers.

Network and datacenter administrator

As a datacenter administrator, you will be in charge of important systems, and you will need expansive knowledge about everything that happens in the data center including operations, maintenance, infrastructure design, and management. In terms of equipment, you will handle network switches, servers, and storage arrays.

Network infrastructure support

The role of a network infrastructure support engineer involves building and maintaining fabric on which all IT systems and services are built. The infrastructure extends to internet connections, structured cabling, and storage area networks. Additionally, due to the current trend towards cloud computing, these engineers help migrate existing systems to cloud-based providers.

Storage technology manager

As a storage technology manager, you will identify and resolve both software and hardware problems by replacing defective components in an organization’s systems..

Virtual server administrator

A virtualization administrator is responsible for the virtual environment set up and maintenance. The virtual environment can consist of network resources, operating systems, desktops, and servers. Due to the recent migration to the cloud, virtual server assistants are also shifting focus to cloud computing.

Network implementation team

Nobody is affected more during the transition to the cloud than the network implementation team. You will be tasked with keeping data and network users safe. Although the responsibility is shared with the cloud provider, the network implementation team is also responsible.

Information technology solution providers

As an information technology specialist, you will design, operate, and maintain technology products. This career line isn’t limited to technology companies. You can work with any agency, business, or organization that uses technology and manages large amounts of information.

Network support and help desks

As a network support helpdesk employee, your main responsibility will entail monitoring and maintaining computer and network systems within a business in a technical support role. In case of any issues such as viruses, forgotten passwords, or email issues, you are the first person that employees will come to. Other tasks can include diagnosing hardware and software faults, configuring computer systems, and solving technical problems either face to face or over the phone.
