Today, I'm writing this article with my real-life experience with affiliate marketing. Actually, I'm not a good affiliate marketer but I got some good revenue in my first 2 months with affiliate marketing. So, I think to write an article to present to you my road map.
First, I mention my self of this time period. I am a university student at Institute of Technology University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Since 2020 and the moment that I'm writing this article, we have a pandemic situation with Covid 19. So, all students all over the world had to study using online methods. I face that situation the same till now. So, one of our courses has a module like Digital Marketing. Madam DAS Ruwanmini, Lecturer of ITUM teach us. One day she did a lecture about Affiliate marketing. So, I like it and I want to do it practically. Affiliate Marketing is the easiest way to make money because you don't want to have actual products, you don't want to have wholesale, you don't want to think about how to deliver the products. Actually, you have to do to promote their products. You can write reviews, comparisons, and valuable articles. Before buying a good product, many people check its quality and reviews. Among your reviews, you can add links to your affiliate products. After reading a review article there is a high probability to click the product link. That's good for you.
What is Affiliate Marketing?

"A web-based marketing practice, often using automated systems or specialized software in which a business rewards their affiliate for each visitor, customer, or sale which is brought about as the result of the affiliate's marketing efforts." [1]
Actually, we can simply say affiliate marketing is a way to get commissions via advertising products.
How Affiliate Marketing Gain Your Revenue?
Each product has a unique link with your affiliate ID that tracks back to your account with your affiliate marketing program. Your Affiliate partner pays you commissions when someone buys something through your website, blog, or review articles.

There are 3 payment methods in Amazon Associates.
1. By direct deposit ($10.00 minimum earnings)
2. By Amazon.com gift card ($10.00 minimum earnings)
3.By Check ($100.00 minimum earnings)
The commission rates of AliExpress is pretty good. They start at 8.5% to 50%. Actually, this is based on the product and its category. Sometimes they offer additional commissions for new users it's normally around 6%. AliExpress has one pay-out method. They pay only international wire transfers (not PayPal etc.) And also they get $16 for the minimum withdrawal fee from us.
Do you know guys, if someone clicks your link today and he buys it a month later, you will still receive commission? This is called 30 days cookie rate. AliExpress has 30 days cookie rate but Amazon has 24 hours cookie rate.

All Adidas products are based on Sports. Especially they focus on an audience of men and women age 18-24. We have to join Adidas Affiliate through Impact. Impact Radius is the Adidas affiliate, tracking provider. Using it, we able to easily access to get creative banners and links to optimize our work.

All these affiliate programs have unique policies, we have to follow them otherwise we can not get expected results.
Affiliate Marketing is a low risk and no initial investment requirement. It's also a hands-off business. But you have responsibility for driving traffic to your website. If there is no traffic you can not earn money. May you have to do some advertising, campaigns or any other marketing method.
